The Colombia Chiroso coffee varietal is an Ethiopian landrace variety, likely a mutation of Caturra, discovered in Urrao, Antioquia, Colombia. Originally cultivated for its high productivity and resilience in high-altitude, cool climates, it is now celebrated for its complex, floral cup profile with notes often described as including mint, raspberry, strawberry jam, and baked fruits, along with a creamy, buttery body. Chiroso is known for its distinctive long, elongated beans and is considered a rare "domesticated Gesha".
